Let's save our planet

Daily activities we can see at the harbour, the forklift operator move the log to the truck.
The log which product of ancient jungle destruction, plus black smoke from bad maintain forklift machine, and black smoke from lousy factory smoke filter, wake me up about concern the quality of life.

I hope everybody on this planet, should concern about our life quality, which as come worse day by day.
We suffer about flood, poor quality of air, new disease and etc.

Maybe we can start at our neighborhood, take care the plants, save water, save gas / fuel, well maintain the car, maintain the furniture.

Hopefully, we don't cut so much trees, reduce flood, get better air quality.

Dutch colonial style

Dutch colonial style building, we can find easily at Jl Rajawali - part of old block Surabaya down town. Today some of them is being restored, most of them owned by government's company.

Broken wall

Nothing special, just ordinary broken wall part of old house, which I found at Surabaya's old block down town, before was residential area, become go down today. This problem we could see at every city on this globe. But some places like San Fransisco, New Orleans, Shanghai, Singapore, they smartly change the function of the old house to be restaurant, pub, discotheque :) .

Old House

Simple format the entrance of old house, we still can enjoy the classical carved wooden door frame which made from the teakwood. Unfortunately the owner doesn't maintained properly.

Hotel Ibis

Ibis Hotel, at Jl. Rajawali - Jembatan Merah - Surabaya, located at old block of Surabaya down town, which consist of Dutch colonial style buildings. Ibis hotel itself utilize old building to be 3 stars hotel.

Peacefull!!

Peacefull live at village - at Gresik, East Java, Indonesia. The water gate at this village was used to managed irrigation, before most of villagers was fisherman, or work at bandeng pond, farmer, even salt pond, but today most of them works as factory worker, taxi bike driver, since the sold their land to be factories.

I don't believe whether we can see this scenic in next 5 years.

Majapahit Hotel

Majapahit Hotel which located at heart of Surabaya - East Java - Indonesia, was build in 1907, in the old days was residence of powerfull Netherlands officer Dirk Van Hogendorp.
After that was changed to be Hotel Oranye in the 1940's era- Netherlands colonial - operated by Sarkies's family - owner's of Raffles Hotel - Singapore, The Strand Hotel - Myanmar, Oriental Hotel - Penang, and changed to be Hotel Yamato during Japan colonial, the famous story about this antique hotel is November 10, 1945, when Indonesian's patriot tear off Netherlands's flag.

Siesta at river side.

Siesta,
sounds luxurious for today's life.
In the old days, shop closed between 2 pm - 6pm,
since there was siesta habit in the society.
Today, probably we can see siesta closed at South America countries only.

This man, I found at Jln Ngagel - river side - Surabaya,
has his siesta on his bicycle, so nobodies can take it without wake him up.

Quiet Morning

So quiet morning, when I step into the building - Lawang Sewu - located at heart of Semarang - Central of Java - Indonesia. This colonial style building, before was Nederlandsch Indische Spoor-weg Maatschapij ( Netherland railway company ), was built in 1908. There was a blod shed between Indonesia irregular troops and Japanese troops, inside the building. Today no regular activities except some biz exhibition was conducted at here. Some people even named it sacred building.
